The section SDU Chemical Engineering (ChE) at the Department of Green Technology, University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense invites candidates to apply for a position as Academic Technical staff within electrocatalysis. The position is available from 1^st of January 2026 or as soon as possible hereafter. 

Responsibilities

The candidate will primarily be engaged in a supporting role within research and development projects at the section of chemical engineering. The work will include, but will not be limited to: 

• Developing novel materials for electrocatalysis for industrial applications in connection with externally funded research projects

• Planning and testing electrocatalysts in connection with externally funded research projects.

• Instructing scientific staff and students in how to perform experimental work within catalytic materials.

• Help with setting up equipment and coordinating lab experimental work.

• Support publishing scientific results

• Support with instruction, teaching, research and development tasks at the department in general.

The position thus holds a high level of responsibility but also comes with influence and opportunity to participate in and develop research to the highest international level. 

Qualifications

The candidate must have a PhD-degree within electrochemical materials science or equivalent. Apart from the required academic degree, the candidate has to have practical experience with: 

• Electrochemistry

• Developing novel materials for electrocatalysis.

• Planning and testing electrocatalysts

• Catalyst ink/Electrode development and interface studies

• Electrocatalyst durability, degradation mechanism studies

• Recycling of critical materials (metals, polymers) from spent electrochemical systems

• Nanostructured catalyst/electrocatalyst synthesis and characterization

• Hands-on Experience with analytical chemical methods such as XRD, XRF, AAS, UV-Vis/IR spectroscopy, SEM, AFM, TGA, DSC, DMA, BET analyzer, DLS particle size analyzer, Rheometer, including large scale facility, e.g. synchrotron and neutron

• Materials testing

• Publishing scientific papers in high impact journals as main author and co-author.

• Instructing scientific staff at the PhD-fellow and Post Doc level.

• Experience with Publishing scientific papers in high impact journals as main author and co-author will be an asset.

Tenure Track at the Faculty of Engineering, SDU

With the tenure track programme at the Faculty of Engineering, SDU, we offer an attractive career opportunity for promising scholars. The tenure track is aimed at the most talented scholars who have established a high level in their current research and other professional work, and those who possess exceptional potential to achieve the highest international level within their research area.

You enter the 4-year programme at assistant professor level and if successful you are promoted to associate professor by the end of the programme, provided an expert assessment committee confirms that you have acquired the international level of scholarly excellence characteristic of associate professors. Indicators of relevant scholarly merits include documented through independent scholarly output, ground-breaking publications, achievement of excellence grants, and international research network.

The tenure track at the Faculty of Engineering, SDU, is a 4-year programme which includes annual performance and development reviews and a midterm evaluation with a written review by an expert panel to ensure the assistant professor’s track to tenured associate professorship. Finally, a formal academic assessment for permanent associate professorship is conducted by an internationally recognized expert assessment committee. If the final assessment is positive, the candidate will be offered a permanent position as associate professor. If the assessment is negative, the assistant professor can recommend a second assessment within the last six months of employment. Thus, a maximum of two academic assessments can take place.    

When part of the tenure track programme, the 4-year period as assistant professor may be extended by maternity leave, paternity leave and/or adoption leave.

Conditions of employment

Appointment as a tenure track assistant professor is temporary and for an initial 4-year period, with guaranteed assessment for a permanent position as associate professor during the final year of employment. The preferred start date is from March 2026 (or as soon as possible therafter).

Afdelingens sengeafsnit har plads til i alt 27 indlagte patienter, derudover har afdelingen en klinik med ca. 25.000 ambulante besøg årligt. Afdelingen behandler patienter med et bredt spektrum af ortopædkirurgiske lidelser. Der er en høj og stigende aktivitet indenfor både den akutte og den elektive ortopædkirurgi.

If you are curious and proactive scientist with expertise and interest in computational biology and data science, and you are looking to make a difference working on projects that will have impact on world level challenges, this PhD position is for you! The project is supervised by Alberto Santos Delgado at the Technical University of Denmark part (DTU) and co-supervised by Prof. Julios Saez-Rodriguez at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) as part of ProtAIomics, a Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network (https://www.protaiomics.eu/ ). In this project, we will design a federated knowledge graph framework that facilitates the querying, consolidation, analysis, and interpretation of distributed proteomics-focused clinical knowledge graphs. To achieve this, we will employ machine learning techniques to develop local graph representation models, which will be aggregated globally to enhance their predictive power and translational relevance, all while maintaining strict data privacy standards.

As part of the ProtAIomics MSCA Doctoral Network, you will collaborate with top proteomics research scientist and participate in multiple trainings and summer schools. About the Multi-omics Network Analytics Group
The Multi-omics Network Analytics (https://multiomics-analytics-group.github.io/ ) aims to getting a holistic view of biological systems and their context to understand their complexity and provide new insights and applications that can benefit human and environmental health. We focus on Multimodal Data, processing and analyzing diverse types such as mass spectrometry (proteomics, metabolomics) and metaomics (metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, metaproteomics), tackling complex biological problems. 

A key component is integrating and interpreting multi-omics data using graphs and developing machine learning tools. We apply these technologies to explore and understand complex biological problems spanning human and environmental health.

Further, we’re strong advocates of open science, adhering to open principles for our generated data, training, and software, aiming to reduce inequality and promote accessibility by democratizing data science.

Research and Development Opportunities
You will get the opportunity to learn and apply the latest machine learning algorithms/data science methods for clinical proteomics data. Further, during the enrollment process, you will define together with your supervisors (main and co-supervisor) additional relevant courses from the domains covered in the project (30 ECTS points of relevant PhD courses as required in Danish PhD programs). • Experience working with MS-based proteomics data and/or other omics data types.
• Familiarity with data preprocessing pipelines for high-throughput omics data (e.g., Nextflow).
• Strong programming skills in Python (Data and Machine Learning stacks).
• Experience with version control and cloud/HPC computing platforms.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker).
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., biologists, clinicians, software engineers) and to communicate complex technical concepts to non-experts.
• Previous experience with federated machine learning is highly valuable, though not strictly required.

Dine ansvarsområder

• Ansvarlig for opfølgning på debitorer og kreditorer
• Koordinering af finansafdelingens daglige opgaver i tæt samarbejde med Finance Manager
• Ansvarlig for lønadministration
• Medvirken til at videreudvikle processer, rutiner og rapportering

Dine nøgleopgaver bliver

• Hands-on registrering og bogføring af bilag samt intern koordinering i økonomiafdelingen
• Udarbejdelse af diverse afstemninger og perioderapporter
• Assistance til Finance Manager i forbindelse med revision, herunder ansvar for egne regnskaber
• Controlling og økonomiske analyser til brug for ledelse og forretning
• Administrative og ad hoc-opgaver i afdelingen
• Udarbejdelse af løn for både 14-dages lønnede og funktionærer samt support til medarbejdere i HR-relaterede spørgsmål

Kendskab til Business Central og Visma er en fordel, men ikke et krav.

Som profil er du kendetegnet ved

• Regnskabsfaglig uddannelse (f.eks. merkonom, revisorassistent, finansøkonom eller lignende)
• Minimum tre års erfaring fra en lignende stilling
• Stærke kompetencer inden for bogholderi, controlling og løn
• Struktureret, ansvarsbevidst og analytisk med sans for detaljer
• En teamplayer, der trives med samarbejde på tværs og bidrager til et positivt arbejdsmiljø

Du har dokumenteret erfaring med projekt-/byggeledelse med byggerier i totalentreprise, hvor du med succes har medvirket til projekternes fulde gennemførsel. 

Søger du jobbet som Projektleder/Byggeleder, ligger din styrke således i at koble flere års praktiske erfaringer med motiverende teamledelse og en "hands on" indstilling til at finde gode løsninger i byggeriet. 

FAGLIGE KVALIFIKATIONER

Du har en håndværksmæssig baggrund, og muligvis en videregående uddannelse som bygningskonstruktør. 

Du har gerne AMK uddannelsen, og har du kendskab til DGNB og BREAM certificeringerne, er det et ekstra plus. 

Du er nysgerrig af natur og er fagligt opsøgende. Hertil er du udpræget løsningsorienteret, og du er god til at skabe og vedligeholde relationer. 

Du finder det inspirerende og motiverende at være med fra start til slut i et projekt til alles tilfredshed. Og så drives du af din lyst til at skabe resultater i en virksomhed i udvikling.

Du har:

• Evnen til at drive en byggeplads med sikker hånd, så tiden og økonomien holdes på sporet

• Gode forhandlingsevner og evner at sparre med såvel underentreprenører som bygherrer og rådgivere

• Sans for økonomi og godt købmandsskab

• Gode kommunikationsevner i såvel skrift som tale, da dokumentation er en vigtig del i vores projekter

• Indgående kendskab til AB18 og eventuelt ABT18
