We are looking for a talented and motivated PhD student for the EPHEMERAL research project. EPHEMERAL – Entrepreneurship and Place: How Entrepreneurs Manage Evolving Relationships Across the Life-cycle is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network (MSCA-DN) funded under Horizon Europe. The project aims to train a new generation of researchers to advance rural development theory and practice through entrepreneurship.

EPHEMERAL explores how entrepreneurs shape rural places over time, considering life-cycle dynamics, evolving local contexts, and structural societal changes. The network includes five European universities and several non-academic partners, offering interdisciplinary supervision and training with a focus on rural entrepreneurship and development.

The PhD position will focus on the topic of “Left-behind places and entrepreneurial mobilization”. The objective of the PhD project is to contribute to the question of how structural changes at the societal level change the emergence of opportunities and resources in rural places through the specific empirical phenomenon of left behind places as a new political narrative and category. The project thus seeks to identify new forms of entrepreneurial agency leveraging local and extra-local resources around notions of left behindness, geographical discontent and spatial justice.

To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:

• A background as a trained electrician or equivalent strong electrical foundation
• Experience with fire detection or firefighting systems (an advantage, not a must). The ideal candidate would have a DIN 14675 certification.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (100+ days per year)
• A strong focus on safety and a high level of technical accuracy

At Semco Maritime, we’re looking for a Service Technician to join our HVAC Service team – and you might be the one we’re looking for.

Your position

In your new position as HVAC Technician in the Service division, you will become a valuable member of our dedicated HVAC Service team whose mission is to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient climate control systems across offshore substations worldwide. You will have the chance to work at the forefront of offshore wind energy – maintaining, troubleshooting, and inspecting HVAC systems on offshore platforms.

Your place of work will be at our Global HQ located in Esbjerg, the hub of the Danish energy industry, right on the waterfront – views do not get any better than this. The position is full-time, and you should expect 100+ travel days per year to project sites around the world.

Your tasks & responsibilities

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our international clients in the servicing and maintenance of HVAC systems on offshore substations.

Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting inspections, servicing, and maintenance of HVAC systems offshore
• Diagnosing and solving technical issues – both remotely and on-site
• Providing technical support to clients and colleagues
• Documenting and reporting findings clearly and effectively
• Supporting and adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards in all activities

Your profile & qualifications

• Experience with ventilation and chilled water systems (an advantage, not a must)
• A basic understanding of electrical fault-finding and insight into automation related to cooling and ventilation control systems
• Readiness to learn, grow, and take responsibility in a specialized technical role
• Willingness to travel extensively and commit to 100+ travel days per year

I Esbjerg Kommune og på Fanø er der meget spændende natur.

Esbjerg kommunes naturteam tager vare på de to kommuners varierede natur, som omfatter alt mellem det flade landbrugsland, Vadehavet og Fanøs bølgende klitter. Vores arbejdsopgaver, afspejler diversiteten i landskabet og vi forvalter naturen i relation til alt fra sommerhusområder, PtX-anlæg, fredninger, og naturgenopretning mm.

I de to kommuner sker der en stadig udvikling i samspillet mellem naturen og planlægningen af hvordan det åbne land bruges. Der skal være plads til både natur, vand, klimatiltag, infrastrukturanlæg og meget andet. Behovet for samtænkning og multifunktionelle løsninger er vokset og beskyttelsen af naturtyper og arter spiller en afgørende rolle i disse sammenhænge.

Som faglig koordinator bliver du den, der:

• Har overblik over opgaveporteføljen og økonomien i teamet

• Prioriterer og fordeler opgaver og sikrer, at vi når i mål – uden at miste pusten

• Styrker vidensdeling og kompetenceudvikling

• Vedligeholder vores kvalitetssikringssystem (D4)

• Sikrer at teamet har styr på de faglige IT-systemer og hjælper os med at bruge dem klogt

• Repræsenterer teamet ved møder og arrangementer

Du får ikke personaleansvar – men du bliver en vigtig sparringspartner for kontorchefen og en nøgleperson i teamets udvikling.

Hvem er vi?

Team natur består af 6 engagerede medarbejdere med forskellige fagligheder. Vi arbejder især med myndighedsopgaver. Alle bidrager til et stærkt fagligt fællesskab. Vi lægger vægt på at alle føler sig som en del af teamet.

Vi er uformelle, men professionelle i vores opgaveløsning. Vi arbejder tillidsbaseret, og ønsker generelt at arbejdet skal være både sjovt og fagligt udfordrende.
