Din Profil
Du har en solid erfaring fra IT-konsulentbranchen og som person er du resultatorienteret, energisk, målrettet
og går selvstændigt efter at nå dine mål.
Det er et plus hvis du har erfaring med udvikling / tilpasninger i XAL / C5.
Du er åben og udadvendt og forstår at etablere langvarige relationer til dine kunder. Du er struktureret og
trives med at arbejde i en travl og dynamisk virksomhed. Samtidig er du forretningsorienteret, udadvendt og
har en god portion humor, ligesom du er ambitiøs og sætter en ære i at have tilfredse kunder.


Erfaren XAL/C5 konsulent med solid forretningsindsigt:


 Du har solid erfaring som konsulent med XAL/C5 kombineret med en god forretningsforståelse.
 Du har gode sociale kompetencer, solide kommunikationsevner, og du forstår kundernes behov.
 Du elsker at lære nye ting, men vil gerne have en god og tryg arbejdsplads, hvor du kan udvikle dig i jobbet.
 Du er selvstændig, proaktiv og får tingene løst. Og du trives i et miljø med korte beslutningsveje, hvor du selv

Software architect for research cloud services at the SDU eScience Center

The eScience Center at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) develops and operates large-scale IT infrastructure dedicated to research in all fields. The center is a leading national provider of supercomputing resources and facilities, often provided in close collaboration with other Danish universities.

Our mission is to support research via the development of advanced IT infrastructure and by providing support and expertise to researchers. The key areas of the center are High Performance Computing (HPC), Cloud Services, Data Analytics and Data Management Services. We assist a large research community, educational and government institutions, as well as commercial companies. The center has developed a user-friendly and advanced private cloud system called UCloud, which is the core of the DeiC national system for interactive HPC and cloud computing.

We address stimulating new technological challenges. The SDU eScience Center offers a research-like environment where we encourage the study of innovative solutions and personal growth. We firmly believe in open-source and web technology as means to reach our goals.

Job description:

The center is expanding its staff in one of its core areas: research cloud services.

We seek an expert in the following areas:

  • Distributed and concurrent systems

  • SQL databases

  • Software development for HPC environments

  • Experience with Slurm, Kubernetes or OpenStack

  • Software development experience using Go, C or C++

  • Container and virtualization technology

Experience in at least two of the above areas is required, and candidates with previous experience with Go, Kubernetes and distributed systems will be strongly preferred.

The successful candidate will become part of the cloud team at the eScience Center. Tasks under the user cloud team include, but are not limited to: Designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance distributed systems and services. Integrating with HPC schedulers such as Slurm and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes. Participating in the full feature lifecycle, from requirements gathering and architectural design to coding, automated testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring of production environments.

The cloud team at the eScience Center currently consists of four employees with long expertise in building cloud computing infrastructure, programming and software engineering.

Required qualifications for the position:

  • Proven experience in at least two of the areas in the job description.

  • Strong background in Linux systems.

  • Programming skills (e.g. in Go, C, C++, bash, …).

  • Proven ability to work productively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team balancing divergent objectives involving research, code development, supporting software and consulting with scientists.

Other relevant qualifications (not required):

  • MSc or PhD in a relevant field of science or engineering.

  • Experience with DevOps practices (e.g. git and GitHub, continuous integration and deployment, software documentation).

While the positions offer flexibility and the possibility of remote work, the candidates are expected to be on-site in Odense.


Condition of Employment
The starting date for the positions is 1st of January 2026 or as soon as possible. Appointments are for full time positions for a limited time period of at least 1 year based on the candidate’s profile with the possibility of extension.
