CFD Engineer – Research & Development

As our CFD Engineer, you will play a key role in understanding spray atomization, fire behavior and fluid dynamics, transforming complex simulations into practical solutions that protect lives and property worldwide. Working closely with our R&D team, you will combine advanced modelling with experimental validation to drive product innovation.

This role is ideal for a curious, innovative, and hands-on professional who enjoys combining simulation and practical experimentation in a collaborative environment.


Your key responsibilities:

  • Enhance the R&D Knowledge Base
  • Drive research and development in spray atomization and related technologies
  • Fire modeling to support and inform engineering decisions related to new product development and testing
  • Support Production and Quality Teams
  • Identify and resolve production issues using computational models and creative problem-solving approaches.
  • Assist the Design Team
  • Contribute to designing for production efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate Across Teams
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams while managing your own tasks responsibly.

You will report directly to the R&D Manager and become a part of the R&D department, where collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing are at the core of everything we do.


The skills you will bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related (a Master’s/PhD’s degree is an advantage)
  • Technical experience & knowledge in the following areas:
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Design of Experiments (DoE)
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Statistics
  • Material Science & Corrosion
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Software skills such as Inventor or other CAD tools, OpenFOAM or Fluent and/or Python
  • Prior experience with heat transfer, combustion, and multiphase flows is an advantage
  • Strong verbal and written skills in English.

Hos SH Group søger vi en nysgerrig og teknisk stærk studentermedhjælper, der ønsker at arbejde med AI i praksis inden for engineering og design. Du bliver en del af vores R&D-miljø, hvor vi udvikler avancerede løsninger til blandt andet marine-, offshore- og industrisegmentet.

Dine opgaver

Du vil få en hands-on rolle med fokus på at understøtte og udvikle vores engineering-processer:

  • Deltage i udvikling og test af AI-løsninger (fx automatisering af tegninger og BOM’er)
  • Understøtte mindre AI proof-of-concepts (POC’er) i samarbejde med engineering-teamet
  • Identificere forbedringsmuligheder i eksisterende designs og workflows
  • Bidrage til optimering af engineering-processer
  • Arbejde med tekniske tegninger (2D/3D) og forståelse af konstruktioner og BOM’er
  • Analysere designs med fokus på kompleksitet, omkostninger og standardisering


Din profil

Vi forestiller os, at du:

  • Er studerende inden for engineering, produktion, maskin, mekatronik eller lignende
  • Har erfaring med CAD (gerne Solid Edge)
  • Har forståelse for tekniske tegninger, tolerancer og BOM-strukturer
  • Har interesse for AI i engineering (fx generativt design og automatisering)
  • Har grundlæggende kendskab til dataanalyse og evt. Python
  • Arbejder analytisk, struktureret og selvstændigt
  • Har en hands-on tilgang og lyst til at lære
